SRTI have put up a team of dedicated professionals with extensive scientific, engineering and hands-on experience, and we are looking forward to supporting their advanced research, Human Factors and training applications.
About SRTI- BAS:
The Space Research and Technology Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (SRTI-BAS) carries out fundamental and applied studies in the field of Space Physics, Remote Sensing of the Earth and Planets, and Aerospace Systems and Technologies. The priorities of SRTI-BAS are:
• Solar-Terrestrial and Space Physics (solar wind, magnetospheric and ionospheric physics, high and middle atmospheric physics, space weather);
• High-energy astrophysics, galactic cosmic rays;
• Medico-biological studies, space biotechnologies, heliobiology, telemedicine;
• Design, development and transfer of methods, instrumentation and technologies for remote sensing of the Earth, regional and global monitoring of the environment and security;
• Research in the field of obtaining and application of new super hard materials;
• Development of innovative aerospace instrumentation and technologies, as well as their transfer to economy.
SRTI-BAS, as beneficiary of Grant Contract BG161PO003-1.2.04-0053-C0001, under OP „Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy 2007-2013”,procedure BG161PO003-1.2.04 „Development of Applied Studies in Bulgarian Research Organizations”, is implementing project: “Information Complex for Aerospace Monitoring of the Environment“ (ICASME).
The major objective of the project is development of applied research at SRTI-BAS through implementation of ICASME.
The ICASME consists of three major structural units, encompassed by three major activities:
Activity 1 - delivery, installation, and commissioning of Field Measurement Complex (FMC);
Activity 2 - delivery, installation, and commissioning of Data Processing and Analysis Laboratory (DPAL);
Activity 3 - delivery, installation, and commissioning of Laboratory of Selection, Training, and Control for Operators of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (LSTC_OUAV).
